Twitter next launched its official Android application

On the technical grounds it appears that Twitter is presently on a move of launching and acquiring applications as it has weeks back launched Blackberry app and acquired Tweetie. This time it has come up again with another application built in-house, at this time application is Google Android. Application presently is available in Android Apps market. On the occasion of launching this application Twitter’s Leland Rechis told on company’s official blog, “Reading tweets is easy in a bunch of places on your phone. Quickly access your timeline with the home screen widget, view a tweet location on a map, and see your friend’s latest tweet in your phonebook, GoogleTalk list or any application that uses Android (Android)’s QuickContact bar.”

Twitter’s move to Android was on the expected grounds but shows up the concurrent rift between Twitter and its third-party developers. However, in a media Seesmic CEO Loic Le Meur, that develops Twitter’s more popular Android apps, dismissed the competitive threat Twitter.
