By 2015BC a big percentage of population would have touch screen PC
After the launch and first reaction of the device iPad is appearing to be the future of computing especially with manner it interacts with it users. According to a research done by IT research company Gartner, more than 50% of PCs procured for users below 15 years of age, would have touchscreen by 2015.
Leslie Fiering, research vice president at Gartner, is of the view that kids would pave path for new innovation and development into the computing world. “By 2015, we expect more than 50 percent of PCs purchased for users under the age of 15 will have touchscreens, up from fewer than 2 percent in 2009. On the other hand, we are predicting that fewer than 10 percent of PCs sold to enterprises in 2015 for mainstream knowledge workers will have touchscreens,” she told.
According to Gartner this change would be driven by media content consumption and the content delivery ecosystem. Though Touchscreen into the market for 20 years, but Apple have gone beyond the touch screen concept with its App store concept and may successful in creating greater market awareness of demand for touch and other personal computer applications.
Gartner also look massive potential for touchscreen devices in education. Based on data Gartner feels that 10 to 12 years down the line there would be an entire generation that would be use too of working on touchscreen devices. With continuation iPhone then iPad and there seems a lot more to come in and through future.
