Initial sales figures for Apple iPad touches 300,000 pieces

According to first credible information as received from Apple store, it sold out more than 300,000 pieces of its present product, the iPad tablet on the first day of its launch in the United States. The sales figures for this device involve pre-orders of the device as well as sales at Apple stores across the United States. And this sales figures otherwise contributed to rise in share of Apple Incorporation that touch the closing height of $238.49 on the day.

Presently iPad is not available for sales across other parts if the Globe with exception to US. But sales in Europe, Canada and Australia would start by the end of the April. It is priced in the US at $499 to $829 (£328 to £545). European prices have not yet been announced.

Apple further stated in its press statement that iPad users had downloaded as much as one million applications from its app store and more than 250,000 electronic books. However, its first generation model has wi-fi but is devoid of 3G connectivity. Apple chief executive Steve Jobs said in a statement that the touchscreen device was “going to be a game changer”. But this sales of iPad, however, is lesser than iPhone initial response that sold out 525, 000 pieces on its launch.
