Google closing toawards Flash in an attempt to cut away Apple
Interesting, it is in news for quite long that Google may announce a partnership regarding its Chrome browser and Adobe’s Flash platform. Though there is no clear news about this project open in air yet it is expected to be around Open Screen Project that Google signed up last year. This is a project as weaved around and started by Adobe a year ago aiming at with objective of providing developers with objective of unified platform for content across a range of devices.
Google was interested in this project due to Android mobile operating system and for in netbooks with Chrome OS. However, the deal seems to be much extended and beyond OS that Flash may integrated into the Chrome browser more-so than it already is. What that means isn’t clear at all, since Flash is brought to all browsers by way of a plug-in that’s included with almost all browsers already. Of course, how plug-ins will work in Chrome OS isn’t entirely clear yet either, so it is possible this partnership could mean something along those lines.
This is indeed very interesting at any point having negotiation and a tighter partnership between Google and Adobe. It seems that Google is in mood to set score with former friend Apple. Apple had not included Flash on iPhone neither it is anyways is interested in using Flash on the iPad that is on the launch this Saturday. It is also heard that the Apple CEO has taken shot on the technology and partly convinced some partners about quitting the technology.
However, promoting Flash can even go against the very public support of HTML5 standard that Google is including in every new project from Wave to Buzz. And most of the part of HTML 5 is video component which allows user to run videos without need of plug in like Flash. Google even made HTML5 available for YouTube videos that earler used to work Flash.
