As iPad is set to be launched on Saturday in the U.S and its ripple is visible in rise in stocks of Apple which closes at $232.39, that is all time high. And this has let Apple’s market cap to soar as much as to $210.73 billion. Despite this much jump in stocks Apple is still under $50 billion from its main contestant, Microsoft. The day, when Apple reached to market capitalization in tune of $210.73 billion, Microsoft’s worth in the market was of $259.61 billion.

As regarding the sale of iPad it already has as much as 240, 000 preorder that according to Apple in any case would not be delivered until April 12. This particular launch of iPad is U.S. only and involves only the WiFi version of the device. By the end of April iPad would be available in the larger international markets and would launch up with 3G version of device in U.S with AT&T. In May Apple is believed to come up with MacBooks and Mac Pros have been rumored for a while now with new Intel chips. Apple could simply be waiting for the iPad hoopla to die down before unveiling those.

As the date for Apple’s WWDC yet to be declared it is yet expected to take place around in June. And it is the most probable that during the period Apple would launch another version of the iPhone. It is very keen to note that Apple hasn’t yet held an event to show off a new SDK for a new iPhone OS as it usually does before the WWDC hardware-unveiling. The iPad will run iPhone OS 3.2, but 4.0 is definitely said to be in the works. And during all that happening the $50 billion gap would be much closer to reach Microsoft’s market cap.
