China retailed by dropping down Google from its mobile phone
The war on the nerves of search engine technology is heating up day by day between Chinese policy makers and the American backed search engine Giant Google. In retaliation to Google’s decision to shut down its uncensored operations in China, the Chinese telecom major Unicom has abandoned use of Google search on Android handsets.
Now in China, users will able to decide over for using search service to use on phones that run Google’s mobile operating system. Meanwhile, Google said that it would shut down more of its uncensored search services in China. The China Unicom deal would have an impact over Android phones developed for it by Motorola and Samsung. This can be setback for Google as there more percentage of people are using mobile than internet.
Google has nearly 12 syndication deals with Chinese firms. “Over time, we will not be syndicating censored search to partners in China. But we will of course fulfil our existing contractual obligations,” a Google spokeswoman in Singapore told the Reuters newswire.
If partners prefer to take a censored feed, this could mean that the contracts with Google for search are not renewed. On 22nd March, Google shut down censored search service that run through Google.cn and redirected users to an unfiltered feed run from Hong Kong.
