In order to protect its users Twitter is starting a new service so that its users may not get duped by phishing links which steal their login credentials and other information and data. In its further strategy Twitter would route all link submitted to it bypass a filter created to catch links which leads to malware. A few days ago Biz Stone Twitter co founder told that Twitter users were victimized by phishing scams by links in direct messages. On clicking those links malware makes an entry into and worse happen.

With the new filtering service despite bad link despite being seen in an e-mail notification the user will be safe as stated by the twitter. Filtering is focused around on links sent through direct messages and e-mail notifications about direct messages since the attacks occur primarily in those communications. A good number of Twitter users faced series of phishing attacks in February.
