Google is coming up with Web App Market Place
Under its current underdevelopment Google is trying to bring the app store concept to business cloud computing so providing developers a space for Google Apps customers. This Google Application market place will let Google Apps users to procure third party applications to run atop the Google Apps suite. And as for charges a Developer only needs to pay $100 fee to list their applications on the store and Google will get 20 percent commission on every applications sold through the store.
The idea behind the Google App user is that Google can not keep all his developers busy on the requirements and need of every individual App user. Therefore, Google is thinking to patch up that gap through Third party developers and the Third party developers can make Google Apps more apt and useful for unique business need that does not fit adequately into the Google Apps suite.
For payroll can not be Google’s application as the enterprise resource planning software is not part of Google applications. By involving third party developers Google Apps users can integrate a Web based payroll with Google Apps, letting employees to download their pay stubs simply by clicking an icon over their Google Calendars. Their even can be having many other uses of Google Apps store.
This way Google want to promote among enterprises software customers habit of web based applications as against the rather expensive desktop based applications for their critical business needs. This way Google is putting competition across Microsoft giving idea that Web is the software development platform of the future. Though conservative IT managers never appreciate idea of switching to Google Apps yet already 2 million businesses have already joined the race.
And revolution not going to be stopped here, Google and its partners are developing ways to integrate third party applications directly into Gmail.
