Microsoft is set to launch its version of smart phone

As Apple and Google are already in the market with their version of smart phones, how can you expect Microsoft by any level behind them and it is natural with as it is the undisputed largest software maker in world. According to certain confirmed news Microsoft is partnering with original device manufactures and mobile service providers like Verizon to launch a cellphone by mid-2010.

According to news emerging from sources like media experts Microsoft is working with ODM manufacturers to create the Zune like phone that includes 720p HD video and at least a 5 mega pixel camera. Zune is Microsoft’s portable media player, which competes with Apple’s ipod players. This development is coming ahead of news of trimmed down version of Nexus One phone by Google in India with the help of its Taiwan based handset partner HTC.

The Microsoft phone is expected to be targeted towards the younger generation cling to social networking. According to market Analyst OEM partnerships are happen to be as similar like Google’s partnership with HTC for launching the Google Nexus One phone. Some experts view as in following three years down the line mobile phones would become the dominant way to get connected to Internet. And as Microsoft has a robust retailing network it is natural it would be difficult for other mobile makers to compete with Microsoft. According to another statistics by 2013, there would be 67.9 million smart phones using Windows Mobile operating system.
