US even can consider ‘nuclear option’ in case of cyber attacks
In USA, net security has taken shape of a burning issue as everyone is there concerned over about the security of their personal data as preserved in computers and data houses across organizations and financial institutions. Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano himself has admitted that there is an urgent need to step up efforts to protect Americans from cyber attacks.
He told about a number of efforts which government is taking in order to make it a strategic approach to get the solution of the problem out in reasonable and possible manner. Among many solution suggested to the problem of cyber attacks one such solution is a technology used Einstein that try and prevent attacks on federal networks well before there detection. Einstein monitors the entry points into government networks for unauthorized traffic.
Meanwhile he also made an appeal to security professionals and industry leaders at RSA to go extra mile to increase security and improve their products so that security is ensured automatically and response to any attack at the internet speed. In his appeal he has gone to extent even agreed to examine the nuclear option against anyone who targets the US in a cyber attack. He urged the need for competition to motivate cyber security experts and individuals to develop innovative methods to protect and safe guard people against any cyber attack.
