Yahoo showing consolidating gesture for its search business

yahoo-searchRecently, Yahoo has 600 million users and is second in search engine market has recently organized a press meet to clarify “miscon ceptions” about its search effort. Yahoo told by allowing Bing to have power searches on Yahoo does not means that Yahoo has abandoned its core business of searches and will remain in Search sector as told by its search boss Shashi Seth.

Mr Seth who has joined the designation just three weeks back that Yahoo is still in innovation and on way to include a good number of features into its search process. However on partnership with Google he told process is still on and hopefully would be finalized by next few months. He argued though Microsoft deal has dented them but they are still committed to move ahead rapidly and with swift motion.

At a Search Speak presentation at its California headquarters, a number of Yahoo executives repeated company’s commitment for the search and unveiled a number of products that may solidify its position in the market. The Yahoo features at this presentation were termed as “the next generation of search”. These features involve a way to lookout for restaurants on a smartphone using a finger to draw a circle on a map.
Another product displayed is shortcut to organize related content and a variety of information without bothering to type it in the search bar.

It is indeed true that Yahoo is losing out business due both to Microsoft’s Bing and industry leader Google. According to a recent research it has been revealed that Yahoo’s Share of US search que
ries has been dropped by three percentage points to 17% previous years. Google with 65% is still on first place whereas Microsoft’s Bing courtesy to Yahoo has risen to 11% in January.
