Gmail too is set to go social media way

Working in tune with contemporary trend, Google is now has moved to include social networking features into Gmail to strength its social web strategy. Gmail users can set their status within the service, but Google is trying to expand that features into status updates same on patterns similar to Facebook and Twitter. With new services, users would also able to share photos and videos though new services that are about to begin very soon.

With new hires into the company, the Google is focusing more on understanding social-media concept. Parallel, Google is also developing Google Wave as a similar stream of updates to improve over collaboration. The service that is yet not co-coordinated with Google expected to be released this year.

The center of all the Gmail activity would be tandem in which Gmail would be integrated with other popular social networking services like Twitter and Facebook. However, users already accustomed with sending updates on Facebook and Twitter already won’t switch to the Gmail interface unless they will get a message from Gmail. Yahoo also provides same type of services within Yahoo Mail, allowing users to have a sneak to services like Twitter and Flickr.
