Paypal suspending personal payments in India since, Jan 2010
In a recent development on the PayPal front, that is the largest online payment and money transfer agency in the world is suspending the personal/gift payments to and from India. The service providers and freelancers from the India accused it being a monopolistic process devised by the PayPal.
However, company even not bothered to provide its Indian customers about this development and people were informed about this development only, when, their payment was reversed. And account holders were charged for reversal and re-conversion likewise with drawl of money towards Indian banks was also suffered by the people and left them disappointed. The PayPal account holders who suffered most due to this development are software developers, coders, freelance writers, journalists and SEO. And PayPal has even not mentioned specific time frame to sort out this problem of suspended personal to and from India.
On reversing PayPal sends an email to a customer, stating:
Hello XXXX,
Your payment of YYY has been sent back to the sender of the payment.
We reversed this payment because we have stopped allowing personal payments to be sent to or from India.
If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a personal payment, then you may contact the buyer and have him or her resend the payment as follows: (a) click the Send Money tab, (b) select “Goods,” and (c) provide a shipping address.
If this payment was a personal payment such as a gift, then we have requested that the sender find another payment method until we restore personalpayments to and from India.
We are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we’re sorry for any inconvenience.

Regarding the withdrawal of money to Indian Bank Accounts, PayPal says:
We are currently experiencing an issue processing bank transfers to India bank accounts. We sincerely regret the inconvenience it has caused you. As a result there may be some delays in both withdrawals and random deposits. We are doing everything we can to process your withdrawal as soon a possible; however, we do not have a specific time frame to share at this time.
