Google’s pact with US National Security Agency under cloud of security breach
A new debate has started gaining momentum among Internet groups and bloggers about the internet security of their data after Google’s decision to seek help from National Security Agency (NSA) in handling over cyber attacks. According to a report published at The Washington Post, Google has asked NSA for help that conducts surveillance and code breaking for the federal government over cases of cyber attacks believed to be generated from the China.
NSA is the authority which is responsible for hading issues like US administration’s computer networks against breaches and believed to helping Google to understand and analyse the attacks. However in deal with Google NSA is restricted from peeping into user’s searches and their e-mail accounts. But, this development has angered some of the online communities. As The Electronic Privacy Information Centre, a public research centre based in Washington, has filed a freedom of inform request in order to get details agency’s relationship with Google. I
“Google and NSA are entering into a secret agreement that could impact the privacy of millions of users of Google’s products and services around the world,” the centre’s executive director Marc Rotenberg told the New York Times.
