Facebook is the riskiest website in terms of net security
In a recent Cyber security report, termed as Security Threat 2010, Facebook is not only termed as most popular website for social net workers but also was hot favorite of hackers and thieves too. As research undertook by IT security firm Sophos, revealed that spamming on social networking sites increased by 70 percent. And fifty seven percent of social networking site users revealed that they were spammed only through a social networking sites.
There are many a good reasons for shifting attention towards Facebook with perspective of hackers as they are getting more and more people spending their valuable time on social networks and sparing and sharing away sensitive and valuable information and hackers get opportunities to share away their information for their unscrupulous activities.
Facebook, being the largest social network is also feared to be the most risky site in terms of network security. In survey facebook was registered as the riskiest website with 60 percent respondents favoring it, whereas, 18 percent agreed that Myspace is the next most risky website in terms of security.
As to diminish security threat to Facebook, there is needed some changes in interface of website like making modification into its new recommended privacy settings that provides users with better opportunity to share information with everybody on the internet. And the best measure to keep internet security is telling users about what to follow and what to avoid on internet.
