AP and Yahoo now legally bonded to share news content
As for the distribution of content of Associated Press, to be hosted and distributed over Yahoo, recently, a business deal has been singed between boththe companies for content proliferation as generated from Associated press, however, the financial deals for the content is yet has not been declared.
As non profited organization Associated Press is suffering from therecession and falling newspaper revenues due to exploitation of its content by the companies like You Tube and Facebook. This step by Yahoo is considered as to be move by AP to strengthen its finances and on the other side would help Yahoo to grow as one of the largest web sites of the world.
However this is an erratic situation for Google, has not published any AP content since December. According to a statement made by Google it told, “We have a licensing agreement with the Associated Press that permits us to host its content on Google properties such as Google News. Right now we are not adding new hosted content from the AP. The licensing agreement is the subject of ongoing discussion so we won’t be commenting further at this time.”
