Google has unveiled an own-brand smartphone called the Nexus One

At Google’s headquarter Mountain View, the Google’s new handset Nexus one was inaugurated among ample fun, fare and festivity. It is a slim, touch screen phone made in partnership with Taiwanese manufacturer HTC and runs over Google’s Android operating system.

The phone set is scheduled to be sold out at Google’s website and initially be available on T-mobile in America followed by Vodafone in Europe and Verizon in the US. Direct from Google and would cost $529. It had been started shipping from the very day it was inaugurated on January 5th.

On the occasion, Mario Queiroz, Google vice president for product management, termed it to be the next level of evolution of Android. He told there are more than 20 Android phones as available from 59 carriers in 48 nations. The launch of Nexus one is considered as ploy to ensure on Google’s account that it could make maximum use of web searches as initiated on Mobile phones

The chief executive of HTC Peter Chou told, “You will see it pushes the limit of what is possible on a mobile phone today” Those who would procure unlocked Nexus One phone would be able to use it as a GSM phone on any network. According to some mobile market experts they have termed it to be Android clone of the iPhone.
