Russian Cop exposed corruption on Internet Videos
In a very daring and risky step a retired police officer took refuge of Internet in full dress to expose the corruption, danger and brutality of his line of work. Addressing Prime Minister Vladmir Putin, Alexei Dymovsky said, “Maybe you don’t know about us, about simple cops, who live and work and love their work. I’m ready to tell you everything. I’m not scared of my own death.”
And expression of fear can be judged for Dymovsky who like is not common to relative freedom of self expression like as in Democracies. Over a past one week his videos had more than million viewers which created uproar in Russia. In video he speaks about ten years he spent serving nation with desperation, frustration and resignation. He served in Russian Army from 1996 until 1998 the after he worked as a district commissioner of the city police in the Amur region. In 2004, he was transferred to the city of Novorossiys police department where he promoted to the position of senior security officer where he worked upon crimes related to drug trafficking.
In videos he talks about the leave of absence being denied for medical treatment and illness, about police taking bribe and corruption. He further said, “I am not afraid,” he says, “I am telling my name… But I cannot stand detecting the nonexistent crimes, imprisoning people who are not guilty. I can’t stand it anymore.” These videos definitely have vast political impact but also display the importance of the Internet.
