Adobe procured buys Business Catalyst/GoodBarry for its features for designers
In a recent update of news, for the like mergers and acquisitions, Business Catalyst, the company behind developing e-commerce software suite GoodBarry is suspected to be procured by Adobe Systems for an unknown amount of money. It is yet unconfirmed news, as there is not any official statement or press release from Adobe on the deal, however, Business Catalyst has published certain words on the website shedding some light on the agreement.
Despite the deal, according to whatever respective leakage of the information, there is not much change at Business Catalyst with respect to products, partner agreements, team, pricing, etc. As according to the statement at Business Catalyst:
“Most importantly, we’ll be refocusing our marketing and sales efforts on the web professional market (via businesscatalyst.com), as opposed to web-savvy DIYers such as you. In other words, this means that eventually we will cease “retail” operations and focus on our wholesale operations, and we will only be selling subscriptions to our software via our partner and reseller network.”
Though, the GoodBarry brand would not be recognized in its present status from the 1st of October 2009, but change for the customers would not be much significant. The reasoning for Adobe to procure GoofBarry is provided in tools in the software that help web designers and developers set business online for their clients on minimum cost and efforts and combines features like content management, e-commerce, e-mail marketing, business analytics and basic CRM tools.
