After the purchase of FriendFeed and launch of Facebook platform, the next big next news that is coming from Facebook is release of its simplified version of Facebook platform under the name Facebook Lite.  One may surprise why Facebook is releasing lighter version of its already properly running website. There are many reasons for Facebook to launch lighter version of its website.

First of all, this is Facebook version with minimum number of features and somehow is similar to Twitter Stream where you one can view recent status updates of one’s friend. It has left hand navigation with four categories including Wall, Info, Friends and Photos & Videos. Facebook Lite by any mean is not associated with FriendFeed instead it appears to be a step by Facebook to bring competition to the Twitter and for the purpose it is introducing features like public profiles, profiles fans, public status updates and realtime search. Facebook is replying Twitter simplicity with simplicity. And for a testing times it is restricted with a limited number of users.
