Linux collaborated with credit card company for growth
The Linux Foundation, the non-profit organization that is determined for the growth of Linux kernel, announced its collaboration with Visa Platinum credit card for people who wish to contribute for the growth of Operating System from organization’s initiative.
Jim Zemlin, executive director of The Linux Foundation told media as people contribute to Linux in variety of ways by methods like writing code, marketing, etc but they can contribute to the organization in better manner “by carrying Tux in their pocket”. Linux went into the partner ship with CardPartner for offering credit card through UMB Bank. Linux would receive $50 for every activated card as well as percentage for every purchase made with credit card.
The revenue, earned this way at the amount of 100% would go to promotion of technical events and grant promotion for open source community members in order to enhance growth of Linux.
