AT&T is finding it too hard to handle iPhone
In a recent controversy that has occurred at iPhone front is pulling up of Google Voice service from Apple’s App store and it was not Apple but AT&T that is responsible for the act of prohibiting Google voice service. As the GV mobile app was installed on personal interest of Apple VP Phil Schiller and removed only after a request sent by AT&T.
Though, it is hard to believe that AT&T can be behind this type of move as Google Voice apps on other phones on its network is still under operation. Other example of app removal is SlingPlayer iPhone app that was operating from AT&T’s network. There is an obvious reason for AT&T to work in that manner as iPhone user consumes more data in comparison to other smart phone users and that is the area where AT &T is facing problem as it in an exclusive deal with Apple for a carrier in US. And it is the rapid expansion of iPhone that have degraded the network of AT&T at particular places like San Francisco where usage is very high. And AT&T has not permitted high-use/high-bandwidth services on the device.
However some aid is coming to the iPhone in form of smaller GSM carriers like T-Mobile would ease out strain on AT&T’s network. Or it is the diminishing era of dominance of iPhone that can only solve out problem for AT&T with reduced traffic and lesser connections.
