Despite economic slowdown, Acer has been able to carve out success in laptop markets and make recognizable impression. Acer laptops which are very low at cost and ultraportable to carry on has become very popular in Geek community. In the series of Acer laptops, the latest one is 10 inch Acer Aspire One, the D250 series, that provides very apt balance of feature and technology and comes under the price as lowest as  $300.

The Acer Aspire One D250-1165 has following technical specifications:

Expansion: 5-in-1 media card slot
Ports and connectors: (3) USB 2.0 ports, VGA OUT, power connector, RJ-45/Ethernet (10/100), stereo headphone/line out, stereo microphone in, 0.3 megapixel (VGA) webcam
Dimensions (H x W x D): 1 x 10.2 x 7.2 inches (including feet)
Weight: 2.4 lbs (not including weight of AC adapter).
Operating System: Genuine Windows XP
Processor: Intel Atom N270 Processor 1.60GHz
Memory: 1GB DDR2 SDRAM (533MHz)
Internal Storage: 160GB 5400 rpm SATA HDD

Graphics: Intel GMA 950
Wireless: 54g Wi-Fi (802.11b/g)
Power: 3-cell Lithium-Ion battery (2200mAh, 25Wh)
Warranty: One-year standard warranty
MSRP: $329.99 ($299.95 Retail Price)

Apart from the mentioned specifications, Aspire One D250 has a contracted keyboard, which somehow is similar to original Aspire One 150 series.  However, even being with a smaller keyboard, it is yet very strong with keyboard flex and strong individual keys. As far as temperature of the system is concerned, the new Aspire one can sustain temperature upto the level that is common to the any netbook with Intel Atom Processors.  It has battery life of 3 hours but on testing it was found to be around 2 hours and 32 minutes. Overall, it is a nice notebook with all the most common features by a presented day computer user.  For its advantages, it has very low price, nice build quality and compatibility with upgrades. On the due to poor battery life, small keyboard, weak integrated graphics and bad touchpad buttons, it draws some weaknesses.
