5 Sticky Notes apps to track schedules on Linux
With the digital version of stick notes that we can use to keep as to remember our scheduled task, Mac OS X and Windows 7 are coming with native stick note applications that can be pasted on desktop to remember tasks. Below are some of the alternatives of sticky note for Linux.
Sticky Notes: An Applet Sticky notes added onto to the panel can be accessed through simple click on panel icon. Background color, font color, default width and height all for stick notes can be configured. It easily gets integrated with Gnome desktop and capable of having access to the library of the system.
KNotes: This is default stick note application for Linux KDE desktop. Highly configurable, it has number of features not present in any other application. Part of KDE PIM suite and an integrated component of Kontact it provides with features like drag and drop notes into emails, sending/receiving notes over a network and print note. Editing background color, font color, title font, text font, default width and height are provided with KNotes.
Xpad: Lightweight, simple, however very useful application Xpad is a very useful sticky note application. With customizable features it can provide basic styling (bold, italics, underline, etc) to edit the text, it can change background color and provided many other such formatting options.
Pin ‘em up: Java-based stick note application can run over any platform supporting Java including Mac, Windows and Linux. Enabled with Java compatibility it can run faster and looks sleek. One of the unique features of Pin ‘en up is capacity to define notes into further categories. It also supports importing/exporting of stick notes to your own server to sync them with other computers, highly valuable when using different computers with different operating systems.
Tomboy Notes: Anyway it is not a stick app, but a very powerful note taking application. It can arrange notes in Wiki-like linking system to organize thought and ideas. And above all you can rename and reorganize your notes and ideas with it.
