One who is fond of spamming, definitely, going to reap all the dividends out of stuff that is provided to him irrespective of platform he is keeping it’s operating on. And twitter is no exception to this dirty trend. Spammers are now harvesting e-mail addresses from twitter and using them for their respective designs. In order to save you from being trapped into this practice it is best advised that one should keep himself as far away as possible from tweeting e-mail addresses.

According to Matthew Danies, lead Developer of Twellow that a simple query on Twitter search can bring out a good number of e-mail addresses which a spammer can exploit for their own purposes. He said, “You can sit and just watch the email addresses steadily trickle in,” he noted. “I wouldn’t doubt it if spammers are harvesting these.”

In method of searching e-mails, search engines like Google are always been in good use, however, Twitter added new dimension to e-mail searching exercise. On Twitter e-mails comes at faster pace and are regularly updated. “The Twitter stream really weeds out all sorts of irrelevant data and cuts right to the email addresses within 140 characters, so it’s a lot less intense, and would require very little coding skill,” Daines explained it further on.

It obvious that twitter in coming time may take some exception to this practice, though a user on twitter should not leave away is e-mail address easily unless he wants it to be searchable on twitter.
