Twitter Clone by Yahoo under Speculation

Submitted by admin on Friday, 15 May 2009No Comment

There is speculation in the air that Yahoo may soon come up with Portuguese version of the Twitter Clone called Yahoo Meme. According to the blog of David Ruiz, Yahoo has invited users to test on the alpha version of Twitter’s competitor in Portuguese.

As English translation for the Portuguese Twitter Clone Yahoo Meme front page says

“Do not have time or patience for blogging? So Meme is tailored for you. Wait” Yahoo Meme’s mascot is a dog as different from the Twitter bird. On internet “meme” is understood with fever. The origination of the word meme has arrived from the Richard Dawkins book, “The Selfish Gene” in 1976.

Yahoo Meme as in first appearance looks like exact copy of meme. After making an account you can attach a user name followed by description of a minimum of 100 characters. Like as Twitter you can search for users and followers over there. You can write text and can have links for photos, video, and music. Even for messages you are still kept with 140 characters limit. Yet further details are awaited from Yahoo
