Number of Twitter Visits Doubled In Month of April 2009

According to the recent statistics released by ComScore, the number of unique visitors for twitter reached to the 17 million in United States. That is whooping 83 percent rise from the previous month of March, when Twitter had 9.3 million domestic visitors. However, it decreased by 131 percent the growth recorded in the month of March.

As far as twitter is getting boosted by numbers, its performance is enhanced by celebrities from television industry joining it. As Nightline is developing a new “Twittercast” show called NightTline which will record feedback for the program through Twitter. However another research has suggested that Twitter at the same time has abandonment rate of 60 percent per month. The time spend on Twitter has even increased to considerable level where a visitor is spending 7.9 minutes a day on Twitter that is just double from what it used to be in the month of December. Page views have increased upto 428 million up from 219 million last month. This data is only from Twitter users from the website, mobile and desktop clients are not included over here.
